Online Presentation - Storytelling | Creative Writing | Presenting Online.

Course Brief

Since Covid, the use of online presentations and live streaming has become the new normal. Whether that's marketing or pitching for new business, project presentations, or connecting with colleagues and existing clients.  Presenting online is very different to interacting in person and this course
takes you through everything you need to know in a clear, concise manner.

This learning journey covers:

  • How to create an online presentation that really connects with your viewers.
  • The art of storytelling.
  • How to stop your viewers from switching off and tuning out during your Webinar or LiveStream.
  • Making your presentations look professional.
  • Presenting Techniques.
  • Core skills - essential visual recording and editing techniques.
  • Live Streaming and Webinar Technologies/best practice.

 

Course Content

The course will be delivered over 10 weeks, starting on 10th March 2021, and will cover the following modules :

  • The Art of Story
  • Developing Story
  • Visual Storytelling
  • Creative Writing - Narration and Scripting
  • Set design and lighting
  • Filming with camera/smartphone
  • Presenting Techniques 1
  • Presenting Techniques 2
  • Editing
  • Live streaming/Webinar Tech

 

Training Method

This course will be delivered online via Zoom for 10 weeks.  Eligibility criteria apply and participants will be required to complete an application form which will be assessed by Learning Waves Skillnet Sub Committee.

Target Trainee Profile

Those who have recently been made unemployed and are interested in upskilling in the area of online presentation and the art of storytelling online. 

Trainers

Liam O'Brien

Liam O'Brien (M.A.) is an award winning storyteller. His work has been broadcast all over the world, in addition to winning over 70 awards for his creative productions. Liam is the current series producer of Irish radio’s (RTÉ) world-renowned, Documentary on One unit.

Susan Hickey

Susan Hickey is an award-winning media presenter, producer, author & entrepreneur. She’s worked for TV, Radio and online as a presenter & interviewer around the world, including UK’s Channel4, Spain’s MobuzzTV and Ireland’s RTE - covering diverse subject matters from technology to finance. She is currently the host of GCTV Live and of GCA's live webinars - presenting insights into the world of media and creativity from global leading experts.

Richard Link

Richard has taught, directed, and coached thousands of performers and presenters. He has held roles such as Director of Vocal Programme, Vocal & Performance Coach, University Lecturer and Music Director over the last 25 years, delivering hundreds of workshops.

Cielo de la Paz

Cielo is a videographer lauded for her innovative and exciting work with mobile devices. In 2014 her photos and videos were featured in Apple’s Shot on iPhone ad campaign. With this exposure, many people turned to Cielo to teach them how to take better photos and videos with their iPhones. Cielo taught her first iPhone videography class in 2015, and to date has taught over 20,000 students worldwide. Apple continue to use Cielo's content when launching new iPhones.

Eugene Ruane

Eugene is an award-winning Senior Copywriter, Creative Director, Group-head and Author. He began working at Saatchi & Saatchi London in 1980.
In his 17 years there he went from junior copywriter to senior writer, group-head and a director of the company. In the same period, the agency went from medium-sized British agency to the biggest and most successful agency in the world.

Peter Stone

Peter Stone (FLCM) is an award-winning creative producer, sought after public speaker & presenter. Peter combines his deep knowledge and passion for creativity in unique ways. Initially trained as a classical pianist & composer at the Royal Academy of Music - winning two Lloyd Webber Piano Awards - Peter became the youngest ever music examiner for the London College of Music. He was a product specialist and sound designer for Roland UK and Japan, a producer, composer and performer working with several top artists including Madonna, Kenny Rogers, Simply Red, Go West, Tony Hadley, Boys Own, Status Quo, Leo Sayer, Cliff Richard, UB40, Let Loose, Jon Parr and many other top artists. He has written brand and advertising music/sonic branding consultant for Coca~Cola, Samsung, Blossom Hill, Ford, DFS, Clear Blue, Vue, Warner Village Cinema, Quickstep, Motorola, Sainsburys, BT, Cosmo Girl, Wella, Saab, Granada, Pizza Hut, Universal, Easy Jet & many more international brands.
