About Learning Waves

Learning Waves is the training provider for the Independent Radio Sector in Ireland.  The network works with 31 Independent Radio stations across the country along with sales houses, Media Central, IRS+ and Urban Media.  The network designs, develops and delivers training across all areas of radio and training is delivered online and in person.  Learning Waves also works with graduates through the provision of our Journalism Graduate Programme supporting graduates in finding employment across the sector. In addition to this, the TY Media Week programme run by the network allows TY students to create, produce and present content on one of Ireland’s Independent Radio stations. 

The Package

The role is currently 20 hours per week and remote working options are available.  The successful applicant will be based in Learning Waves office in Creative Spark, Dundalk, Co. Louth.  A various times throughout the year, travel to Learning Waves events/conferences may be required.  .  where travel is required for the job, successful applicants will be re-imbursed accordingly.

  • Create & develop ideas for the programme

  • Liasing with the Presenter & Programme Director before, during & after each programme on all aspects of the programmes production and output. And also to plan & develop content and to analyse previous days content.

Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio is one the largest commercial radio stations in the country. We’re looking to hire a Producer for our midday Talk Show – The Niall Boylan Show.

The successful candidate will have the ability and expertise to generate and research ideas for the Talk Show and generate entertaining and engaging content for the programme. You will assist with creating and producing high quality and distinct content and associated feature content for the Niall Boylan Talk Show which will help grow the audience the show.

The successful candidate must be experienced, have a broad knowledge of all current affairs, international events and have great attention to detail and be creative, proactive, confident, and ambitious.

* Play a leading role in all aspects of daily production for the show

The Team: Live95 News and Sports Team - we work closely with the Live 95 Limerick Today team to bring Limerick all the breaking news stories across Limerick as well as in depth analysis of the stories and issues that matter to our Limerick audience.

Your Role: In this role you will write, produce, present and report on Limerick news and sport stories for Live95’s hourly radio bulletins and online platforms. You could be interviewing the Taoiseach in the morning and reporting on a rugby match in the afternoon. Every day is different.

Day to day you will:

Galway Bay FM, the Sound of Galway, is an independent local radio station, which operates under a licence from the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland. Established in 1989, the station broadcasts from its studios in Sandy Road, Galway, serving Galway City and County.  The station is currently looking recruit a permanent Producer/Presenter for their flagship current affairs programme “Galway Talks”.

The Producer/Presenter will be responsible for the audio content of the programme broadcasts via, radio, digital and social media platforms. The successful candidate will be required to source and develop content; source potential contributors and interviewees; engage in writing materials for scripts; produce preproduction briefings for the presenter and undertake interviewing, editing and reporting duties as required.

The ability to work well with a team is a necessity as the role requires close collaboration with colleagues, presenters and contributors to the show.
