Media Literacy Ireland Awards Closing for Entries on 4th September 2026.
Media Literacy Award entries are open until Friday 4th September 2024. The awards are supported by Coimisiún na Meán and the aim of the awards is to recognise the work that is being undertaken to help citizens, especially within communities, develop the media literacy skills that will empower them to make the best use of media. So, if you have helped people to use, understand, create or participate in media, here’s your chance to shout about it.
There are six categories this year:
- Best Media Literacy Initiative for Young People
- Best Media Literacy Initiative for Older People
- Best Community-Based Initiative
- Best General Media Literacy Initiative
- Best Large-Scale Media Literacy Initiative
- Best Media-Led Media Literacy Initiative
A new category has been included for 2026 - Best Large-Scale Media Literacy Initiative which is open to any media literacy initiative that helped people living on the island of Ireland to develop skills, knowledge and/or competencies to be able to make informed choices about the media content and services that they consume, create and disseminate.
Organisations big and small – from schools, libraries, community groups, to online platforms, broadcasters, commentators and influencers are invited to enter, covering projects, resources, training, research, campaigns or media programmes.
The deadline is 4 September, but don’t leave it until the last minute. Get your entry in early! Everything you need to know is on the MLI website: 2026 MLI Awards open for entries - Media Literacy Ireland.
