Wexford Stands with Ukraine

Wexford Stands with Ukraine.

  • 9th March, 2022

Today Wednesday 9th of March South East Radio is coming together with the Wexford People Newspaper Group to encourage the people of Co. Wexford to swop their beloved purple and gold for the blue and yellow of Ukraine in a show of support.

South East Radio is the voice of Co. Wexford and over the past 33 years the news and programming teams have covered the highs and the lows but the horrific stories and scenes they are seeing from Ukraine for the past two weeks have been heart-breaking. Their listeners have been asking them to do something to highlight the worsening situation.  |As a result, South East Radio is uniting with their colleagues in the Wexford People Newspaper Group to offer their support to those affected in Ukraine. Every day, they proudly fly the purple and gold of County Wexford. This week, they are asking you, in solidarity with the Ukrainian people, to swop your colours and fly the blue and yellow of Ukraine. South East Radio has illuminated its studios in the Ukrainian colours.

South East Radio and the Wexford People Newspaper Group are working together to share with you the latest updates on the Ukrainian crisis as well as the stories and journeys of those escaping the conflict to seek refuge.

Our native Irish phrase says “Ní neart go cur le chéile” – There is no strength without unity.  They are now appealing to you to unite and help the people of Ukraine in any way you can.
