Former Saatchi & Saatchi Director Leads Creative Workshop for Learning Waves

Calling all creative copywriters! Learning Waves are holding a new innovative workshop which will take place in Dublin on June 27th. (Venue to be confirmed) This workshop will focus on copywriting and the notion of the creative led sell – the most effective way to sell radio advertising. To keep things interesting, there will be a combination of presentations, discussions, audio and interactive writing and it will be led by none other than Eugene Ruane, an award-winning Senior Copywriter, Creative Director and Author.

Eugene Ruane began his ever successful career in Saatchi and Saatchi in London in 1980 where he excelled through the company during his 17 years there, from junior copywriter to a director of the company. Saatchi and Saatchi are a global communication and advertising agency with 140 offices in 76 countries. They launched in 1970 with the philosophy that “nothing is impossible”, Ruane took this philosophy and ran with it as he travelled the world, winning awards (including bronze, silver and gold at Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity) and working for extremely successful companies such as McCann Erickson, Amster Yard in New York and Publicis in Dublin to name but a few. 

Ruane is now senior tutor, course author and head of copy at GoCreateAcademy and board director of Kinsale Sharks, an international advertising and creative festival that rewards creative thinking - In recent years he has worked alongside brands such as Toyota and Paddy Irish Whiskey as well as being heavily involved with Dublin City Council in their Anti-Litter Campaigns. 

During this half day course, participants will look at the creative led sell and how creative copywriting for radio can help us sell radio advertising and really good advertising at that, together with relevant, contemporary case studies. This will then be put into practice with a practical, interactive writing session with the guidance of our tutor, Eugene Ruane.
