New Voices for Radio from Music Presenter Bootcamp Course
  • 2nd August, 2016

Learning Waves Skillnet is delighted to bring to you some potential new voices for radio from our recent 3 week Music Presenter Bootcamp course.  A total of 13 people participated in the 3 week course delivered by industry experts in Dublin.  Participants had to complete a number of tasks during the 3 week course with the biggest task culminating in a one hour broadcast by each team commencing this week.  The group was split into 4 groups and each group will now present a one hour progamme on FRQ.fm week beginning 11th July 2016.  The first group to broadcast on Monday 11th July 2016 at 12 noon was the Festival FRQ's.

Tall Tom, Juicy Jane, Ciaran O and Dave J gave their tips for  attending festivals and also told us some very interesting stories from festivals they have been too.  On Tuesday 12th July we heard from Urban Fairytales, featuring Garrett Mulhall, Andrew Buck and Aishling O'Hanlon who brought us an interview with up and coming band, The Stranger Phases and an exclusive interview with Nicky Byrne.  On Wednedsay 13th July we heard from 'the Happy Hour' team featuring David Lehane, Sara McNamara and Tomie James who will told us about the up and coming Festival of Curiosity and an interview with Totally Wired.  Today is our last group, 'Get your FRQ on' with Barry Moore, Jason Collins and David Gilligan where you will hear about youth mental health issues, interview with an up and coming band, great music and lots more.  Hear is a sneak preview of what will be coming up today at 12 noon on FRQ.fm  We would love you to tune in and give them your support as this is no mean feat - a one hour broadcast after 3 weeks of training, stay tuned on FRQ.fm.
