Mobile Journalism for Radio Course a great success
  • 18th April, 2016

The 2 day Mobile Journalism(Mojo) course run by Learning Waves Skillnet in August 2015 was a great success with the participants on the course.  The course was delivered by Mojo expert, Glen Mulcahy, RTE, on 10th and 11th August 2015 in 98FM.  10 people attended the course and they learned skills in the area of photography, video shooting and video editing.  The course centered around using your iPhone for taking photos and video which can then be combined using iMovie to produce a piece for broadcast.  Filmic Pro was the app used for taking video on the iPhone.  Along with the apps of iMovie and Fimic Pro, Glen gave the participants a list of very useful apps for use in this area.  This course give participants the skills and tools to become a multimedia journalist.

After the two day course, the participants had this to say, ‘Overall an excellent course, one that I would highly recommend, the best Learning Waves course I have been on, a really excellent, informative and enjoyable 2 days’, Derek Ryan, 98FM, ‘It’s practical for all journalists working in a multimedia environment’, Eamonn Torsney, Q102.

Our next Mobile Journalism course will take place on 12th and 13th September 2015 in Waterford.
