Course Aims
This course explores defamation law from a practical perspective enabling attendees to work within the law and how to deal with issues that may arise. There is an emphasis on the provision of practical examples so that attendees can apply the law in a realistic and practical manner. Case law will also be discussed.

- Essential components including types of publication and identifying a person/business
- Who is liable for defamation
- Repetition of Defamation
- Defences to Defamation
- How to mitigate damage
- Reform of defamation and its implications
