News and Sport positions at Tipp FM.
Tipp FM have announced the following vacancies at their Clonmel based radio station, News Editor and News and Sports Journalist. Applications for both positions will close on 6th September 2019. The details of each position are outlined below :
News Editor
A vacancy for a News Editor has arisen in Tipp FM. This is an exciting opportunity for a News Editor to help steer and shape the On Air & Online output for local, national and international news coverage for Tipp FM. This role will be instrumental in ensuring that Tipp FM is at the forefront of the latest News in Tipperary and beyond. If YOU are dynamic, creative and want a role in senior management while leading our news team we want to hear from you.
The key responsibilities of the role will include :
- Leading the News & Current Affairs department and managing all News output on air & online.
- Applications must have a clear understanding of News production including editorial, logistical and operational techniques.
The Person:
- You must have at least 5 years experience working in a busy media environment
- A solid understanding of broadcast media law and the BAI Broadcasting Code
- You must have extensive knowledge of current affairs while having a complete understanding of how News works on social media.

News & Sports Journalist :
This is a great opportunity to join the expanding News team as Tipp FM are currently looking to find a full-time News & Sports Journalist. Tipp FM is looking for someone who will go directly to the story, someone who is a talented Broadcast Journalist for a key role in thenews team based in Clonmel. The ideal candidate must be creative and have a good speaking voice to produce quality content for Tipp FM News.The successful candidate will also be involved in creating content for the stations Social Media channel and their website.
Key Responsibilities:
We want candidates to be passionate about news & sport in Tipperary, and eager to investigate local stories.
You must be confident working on your own, under the guidance of our Head of News. You must have a commanding on-air presence and delivering bespoke bulletins.
You should be capable of creating original news content, have a minimum of three years in a media environment and a full driving licence.
