Learning Waves launches Introduction to Radio Webinars for TY Students.
Learning Waves, has today, launched a series of webinars which will provide an Introduction to Radio for TY Students. In the academic year of 2019/2020, Learning Waves, through funding from the BAI Sound and Vision Scheme ran the very successful TY Media Week Programme.
The TY Media Week enabled over 50 schools, 225 TY students and 13 radio stations take part in a week long programme which focussed on the creation, editing, production and presentation of radio content across all of the stations. The students were mentored for one week, during which they were located within the station, and at the end of the week students produced content that was broadcast on the radio station. The content produced by the TY students included content which focussed on Mental Health, Fast Fashion, Equality in Sport, Social Media and TY Students, Election 2020 and much more.
Due to Covid 19, Learning Waves is not in a position to provide the TY Media Week Programme to students and schools in the academic year 2020/2021. As an alternative to this, Learning Waves has devised a series of webinars for TY students which will be delivered over a five week period from 2nd December 2020 to 20th January 2021. During the series of webinars, TY students will get the opportunity to hear from radio presenters, producers, news editors, sports editors, social media editors and commercial production and sales staff.
