Learning Waves has launched a new and innovative programme on Creating Compelling Content using your Mobile Phone which will be delivered online via Zoom with Glen Mulcahy from Titanium Media.  The programme aims to give you the skills to create compelling photos, audio and video which can then be used for broadcast on-air, online and across all social media platforms.

The programme is a compressed version of its Diploma in Mobile Journalism and consists of 6 modules delivered over 3 days.  It is tailored to meet the needs of IOS and Android users.  The course includes the following modules:

  • Photography and Audio
  • Filmic Pro
  • Filming Sequences
  • Editing Using Lumafusion(IOS users only)
  • Editing using Kinemaster(Android users only)
  • Shooting Interviews and Stand Ups
  • Advanced Editing using Lumafusion
  • Advanced Editing using Kinemaster

The course will see participants complete projects that can be used as content which can be broadcast across multiple platforms.  The course is applicable to all staff working in a radio station(programming, news, sales, digital editors etc) who are responsible for creating, editing and publishing content to multiple platforms.

Glen Mulcahy is CEO of Titanium Media, a media training and consultancy business designed to deliver the highest quality professional training and to ultimately empower people as digital content creators. In his former role as head of innovation with RTÉ, Glen led the introduction of video journalism and mobile journalism across the entirety of RTÉ.  Titanium Media was founded in 2017, when Glen left RTE, following 19 years in the broadcast industry.

Over the last six years he has also travelled extensively delivering training for clients like Aljazeera, Oracle, Symantec, BBC, NRK, YLE and many more. At home his training has been cross platform with courses designed for the Irish Times, TG4, and through Learning Waves many of the independent radio sector. He also has a selection of e-Learning courses available online as part of the Thomson Foundation “Journalism Now” initiative.

Glen is an acknowledged authority on mobile content creation. He has spoken on this subject and media futures at conferences like IBC Amsterdam (x2), EBU News Summit (x3) Circom conference, news:Rewired, JoongAng Ilbo Media conference S.Korea and many others.

He is also the founder of RTÉ Mojocon-an international mobile journalism conference which ran annually from 2015-2017. He is now working on the evolution of the event as an independent conference entitled: “Mojofest”.
