Online training options available during Covid-19
  • 24th March, 2020

Learning Waves Skillnet, in line with HSE and Skillnet Ireland guidelines, has cancelled all face-to-face training scheduled for the foreseable future. The radio sector is playing a critical role in keeping Ireland safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Radio provides a trusted source of news and information to the nation.  Learning Waves will assist stations in any way possible to ensure that all staff across the sector are safe during this time and that the sector is enabled and supported in providing accurate and trusted news to audiences on all platforms.

The network is currently working with training providers to develop relevant online learning options for all staff during Covid-19.  The following webinars are scheduled for the coming days :

  • Remote working for Radio Journalists with Glen Mulcahy and Mark Egan
  • HR & Employment Law Tips and Updates during Covid-19 with the HR Suite
  • Wellbeing Webinar with Niall Ronan, Director, Titan Wellness Ireland (and former rugby player)

Full details of the above courses are available on our training calendar.

We are also offering an online coursse, G-Selector with RCS in the UK which is currently being delivered to many music programmers across the sector.

The network is currently working with all of our trainers and members to see what supports we can offer all our members at this time.

The network with your support, the support of Skillnet Ireland and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, will provide relevant, timely and ongoing training to members during this period of uncertainty.
