Mobile Content for Radio Diploma Launched

Mobile Content for Radio Diploma Launched.

Learning Waves Skillnet is delighted to announce today, 30th August 2018, the launch of its Mobile Content for Radio Diploma.  The Diploma has been developed in partnership with Skillnet Ireland and Titanium Media.  The development of this programme by Learning Waves Skillnet demonstrates the networks commitment to continually developing the skills of those working in the Independent Commercial Radio Sector in Ireland.  The prorgamme will give participants the skills to create, produce and publish mobile content for their radio station.  In addition to key skills such as Photography, Video and Audio Editing, participants will gain skills in Live Streaming Content, 360 Video Production, Social Media and Marketing Content and App Overload.  The programme contains 9 modules delivered over 18 days over a 12 month period. 

The programme boasts a host of national and international experts who will share their knowledge and skills with participants.  Central to the prorgamme will be Titanium Media's Glen Mulcahy who is widely regarded as the expert in this field.  Alongside Glen, the following experts will deliver on this programme in 2018 :

Brendan O'Se who is an award-winning fine art photographer/iPhone photographer and the iPhone Photographer of the Year, 2017.

Wyste Vellinga  who is a Mobile Storyteller working for the Dutch Broadcasting company Omrop Fryslân. He uses iPhones, Androids and even WindowsPhones to tell stories on TV, Radio and Online.who is a mobile filmmaker and storyteller and has recently published a book on 'Mobile Storytelling'

Mark Egan who specialises in Mobile Journalism and Video Marketing.  Mark is an ex BBC video journalist now working with Purple Bridge Media, a company which harnesses the talent of former BBC experts 

Additional trainers will be added for the 2019 modules of this programme. 

The modules on the Diploma include the following :

  • Mobile Photography
  • Radio Production
  • Video Shooting and Editing
  • Live Streaming
  • 360 Video Production
  • Longform Video Production
  • Marketing your content via Social Media
  • Avid/FCP/Premiere Craft Editing Workshop
  • App Overload

The modules will be delivered as stand alone modules which will range from 1 to 3 days in duration.  One module is dependant on the other so participants must complete the modules in the order above. 

The programme will commence with the first module, Mobile Photography Masterclass, taking place in Dublin on 24th and 25th September 2018.
